Moscow : Russian President Dmitry Medvedev Monday announced that parliamentary elections in the country will be held Dec 4.
Medvedev, however, warned against inter-ethnic aggression and violence during the elections.
“One should learn to lose as well as to win honestly,” Medvedev said at a meeting in the Black Sea resort city of Sochi.
Race hate slogans ahead of the vote should be “prevented at all costs”, he said.
Medvedev warned of dire consequences for anyone trying to sabotage the elections to parliament’s lower house, the State Duma.
Russia will hold presidential elections in March next year, though the date has not yet been announced.
