Cairo : Egypt will help Libya rebuild its economy. A delegation will soon go to Libya to discuss with the rebel National Transitional Council ways to assist the country.
Egyptian companies are ready to help Libya rebuild its health care, education and agriculture sectors.
Egypt will also offer aid in clearing Libyan territories from mines planted during the nationwide unrest.
Transitional council envoy Mahmud Jibril earlier arrived in Cairo and urged Egypt’s leadership to take an active part in Libya’s rebuilding.
During the Libyan uprising, Egypt remained neutral. Cairo recognised the National Transitional Council only after rebels seized control over Tripoli last week.
Egypt never closed its border with Libya during the uprising, so humanitarian aid was able to be shipped into the country.
