New Delhi: A day after blaming Rahul Gandhi for the “weak” Lokpal draft, Anna Hazare Saturday said the Congress leader represents the youth and Team Anna would work with him in the future.
“Rahul Gandhi has to take a decision (on Lokpal) considering everyone’s stand on this issue. We will work with him in the future and I believe in the youth of this country,” said Hazare.
He was responding to a question why he kept on attacking the Congress leader despite his assertions about working with the youth and Law Minister Salman Khurshid’s assertion that Gandhi supported a strong Lokpal.
“Many people believe that he will become the prime minister soon but if he doesn’t change his current views on this issue, it would be dangerous for the country,” added Hazare, addressing the press on the eve of his daylong token fast Sunday at Jantar Mantar to protest the government’s version of the Lokpal bill.
Hazare Friday blamed Gandhi for what he termed “a weak bill” tabled in parliament.
Asked about why United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi was not being targeted, Hazare said that he did not want to disturb her as she was not well.
“She is not well. Her condition may deteriorate if we say anything,” he said.
