Patna: Maoists blasted a state-run school in Bihar’s Jamui district early Saturday, police said.
Armed guerrillas surrounded and blew up the school in Sarkanta village in Jamui, about 200 km from here, officials said. According to police officials, Maoists used a JCB machine also to raze the building to the ground.
According to police, the rebels demolished the building to protest against combing operations launched by security men in the area, he said.
Four days ago the rebels had badly damaged a middle school building in Gaya district.
