“There should be a stringent law for Lokpal in the country. The government and the Congress party are trying to build a consensus on the Lokpal by consulting allies and parties in the opposition,” Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ashwani Kumar told reporters here.

“I am sure that the bill will be tabled in parliament,” he added.

New and Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah said parliament should adopt caution while considering the Lokpal bill so that a “super government” to the government was not formed.

He, however, expressed hope that the bill would be presented in parliament soon.
