IFF hosts Eid Milan for Non-Muslims in Saudi Arab

Dammam (Saudi Arab): The Tamil Chapter of India Fraternity Forum (IFF) organized Eid Milan (Eid gathering) program for Non-Muslims on December 16, 2011 at Nahda Auditorium in Dammam. For last six years IFF has been hosting such Eid Milan programs where Islam is introduced to the Non-Muslims and Muslims share their joy of Eid with them.

The program started with the recitation of the Quran verses by Moulavi Mohamed Iqbal. Nagore Meeran gave a brief introduction on the activities of India Fraternity Forum. He stated that IFF is in the forefront of the social activities and has also arranged a number of awareness programs. He clearly stated that the forum works for the welfare of all Indians irrespective of language, race or religion.



Chief Guest Ananda Ramanadhan

Veteran social activist and president of Dammam Tamil Arangam, Er. Ananda Ramanathan was the Chief Guest of the function. He said that he was fascinated by the principles of Islam and the concept of monotheism and Zakat have attracted him the most. He clearly stated that Hinduism also preached monotheism but later on the concept was changed by the people who attributed God’s traits to human beings. He lamented that the social harmony is being damaged by certain vested interest groups and called upon everyone to overcome this dangerous trend.

Speaking on the topic, ‘Islam – An Introduction’ Riaz Ahamed gave a brief speech on the specialties of the Quran. He clearly stated that Quran is not against the scientific or medical facts and also stated that the very purpose of Quran is to guide the mankind. The concept of monotheism, prophet hood and life after death were also briefly explained and he called upon everyone to read the Quran.


Er. Zakaria, an expert in handling the question and answer sessions answered the questions posed by the non-Muslims. Convincing and detailed explanations were also given. He quoted extensively from the Quran and scriptures of other religions. Most of the questions were related to the concept of God.

Mementos to the Chief Guests were given on behalf of IFF by Ahamed Meeran, President (Dammam Tamil Chapter). Gifts were also given to the best questions and those who were selected from a draw. Moulawi Zaki Madani distributed the prizes. Free Quran and CDs were given to all non-Muslim guests.



Nagore Meeran (Abu Naashiha) anchored the program and the vote of thanks was delivered by Mohamed Sirajudeen. Dinner was served to all the participants. Around 300 participants including 120 non-Muslims participated in this program.
