Murder, loot cases declined in Jharkhand: Minister

By IANS,

Ranchi : Murder and loot cases have declined in Jharkhand, Human Resource Development Minister Baijnath Ram said Thursday.

“Murder and loot cases have declined in the state in 2011. Opposition parties are trying to defame the state by raising the issue of poor law and order situation,” Ram told reporters here.

“In 2011, only 1,700 murder cases were reported in the state against 1,900 last year. Similarly the cases of loot registered declined as only 584 cases were registered in 2011 in comparison to 670 last year.”

“The allegations that the law and order situation is in bad shape in Jharkhand is wrong. Jharkhand stands 27th position in crime and Delhi tops in the list,” said the minister.
