Islamabad : Yousuf Raza Gilani Monday met Information and Broadcasting Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan who had cried while announcing that she was quitting. The prime minister had turned down her resignation.
A tearful Awan had announced her resignation during a televised cabinet meeting Sunday morning, saying: “I endorse your leadership (but) I think I am not competent enough to continue as cabinet member and hence submit my resignation.”
Gilani Monday directed Awan to evolve a strategy to showcase achievements of the government, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.
He also called for projection of development work undertaken during three and a half years involving funds worth Rs.1.5 trillion.
