The CM announced a slew of populist measures for the minority community and the residents of the Old City. They included a new Haj House, a 100-acre Special Economic Zone, renovation of Nizamia and Barkas hospitals and a branch of National Academy of Construction in the Old City.

While announcing the measures during his visit, part of government-public contact campaign, CM Reddy said the state government will lift cases against all youth from the Muslim community who were booked after the Mecca Masjid blast in 2007. The CM also announced a rehabilitation package for these victims.

CBI, which had probed the blast, has found Hindutva groups, and not the Muslim youths, behind the Masjid blast, the CM added.
