Patna : In a major administrative reshuffle, the Bihar government Thursday night transferred 55 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, including 22 district magistrates, and 99 Indian Police Service officers, ahead of panchayat polls in the state.
According to an official notification, senior IAS officers of secretary level and senior IPS officials were among those transferred.
The exercise is seen as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s bid to improve administrative efficiency ahead of panchayat polls in April-May.
