Ranchi : A day after India defeated Bangladesh by 87 runs in the cricket World Cup opener, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni flew to his hometown Ranchi in Jharkhand for a day to watch the 34th National Games.
Speaking to reporters at Birsa Munda Football Stadium, Dhoni thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) for allowing him to come here for a day.
He watched a football match between Jharkhand and Goa along with Deputy Chief Minister Sudesh Mahto.
Dhoni said that it was a proud moment for him to be part of the spectacular National Games organized in his state.
Dhoni added that the infrastructure created for the games is of the highest international standards and at par with the best in this part of the world.
