Christchurch (New Zealand) : Sixty five people have been killed in Tuesday’s earthquake that struck New Zealand’s Christchurch city, Prime Minister John Key has said.
Key told reporters that the toll from the magnitude 6.3 earthquake stands at 65 and is likely to rise, New Zealand Herald reported.
He flew to Christchurch Tuesday afternoon.
Key told One News it was likely the quake would prove to be New Zealand’s “darkest day”.
