Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh) : A divisional clerk was shot dead by unidentified assailants outside his office here in Gautam Budh Nagar district, police said.
N.K. Mishra, posted in the minorities division of the district administration, was shot Tuesday evening.
Mishra resided in Ghaziabad and commuted to his office in Surajpur collectorate. After finishing the day’s work, he left office around 7 p.m. As he reached a service lane near his office, the assailants waiting for him shot a bullet in his stomach and he collapsed.
On hearing the sound, other office employees rushed out and saw him lying on the road. They immediately took him to Kailash Hospital and informed the district magistrate about the incident.
Mishra was declared brought dead at the hospital.
“Mishra was posted in Ghaziabad till about one and half years back. He was now with the disability wing of minorities. Enquiries are on,” a Surajpur police official said.
