By IRNA,
Berlin: German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister David Cameron support strong sanctions against Libya, German deputy government spokesman Christoph Steegmans said here Saturday.
In a phone conversation, Merkel and Cameron stressed the need for the United
Nations Security Council to impose harsh sanctions against Libya as quickly as
possible as a result of the deadly security crackdown by the regime of
Libyan dictator Moammar Qaddafi.
Both leaders agreed Qaddafi’s inhuman policies had to end, according to
Steegmans.
Berlin and London also back unilateral European sanctions against Tripoli.
