ZFI holds workshop on minority welfare schemes in Malappuram

Malappuram: As part of its nationwide campaign to create awareness among the Muslim community about minority welfare schemes of government, Zakat Foundation of India (ZFI) held its 10th workshop at Malappuram.

Through power point presentation, Dr Syed Zafar Mahmood, President, ZFI exhorted Muslims to systematically and purposefully work daily for a few hours for community uplift.

He informed the people in details about several schemes run by government and asked them to take benefits of them as these were introduced for them. “There are hundreds of schemes for minorities we should take benefits of them properly. To know about the status of these schemes, RTI is very handful tool” he said.



ZFI in collaboration of local NGOs is organizing workshops during Jan and March 2011 to bring economic empowerment of Muslims. It has already organized workshops in 10 Muslim concentration cities and will cover 4 more cities. During the workshop participants are given information about minority schemes and trained how to use RTI Act.
