Singh, AICC general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister, said Sunday that he has details of the call and that he would reveal it soon.

However, B.L. Tiwari, a senior VHP leader in the state, Monday countered the claim and showed reporters papers he said he received through the Right to Information Act.

Tiwari said: “I claim that no talks took place between Digvijay Singh and Hemant Karkare Nov 26, 2008 on phone number 9425015461.”

“The postpaid number is in the name of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee and Digvijay Singh could not even get details of the calls made from it,” he said.

The papers he showed included letters from Digvijay Singh to the general manager of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited in Bhopal and the reply to him that said the call details were enclosed.

But Tiwari did not present the call details along with the letters.
