Chhattisgarh High Court gets new building

Raipur : The Chhattisgarh High Court has got a new sprawling building spread over 44,500 sq metres of land, an official said Tuesday.

The new building has come up at Bodri locality on the outskirts of Bilaspur town, some 100 km from state capital Raipur. It became operational Monday.

A staggering Rs.108 crore has already been spent on its construction, and the total cost is said to go up to Rs.200 crore once the judges’ bungalows and staff quarters are built.

The Public Works Department, which constructed the building, claimed it was the biggest high court complex in the country in terms of area.
