New Delhi: The United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on Human Rights’ Defenders (HRDs), Ms. Margaret Sekaggya is to visit to India from 9th of January. According to Henri Tiphagne, Director, HRD Alert- India, she will be arriving New Delhi on 9th of January and start her mission on the 10th of January. She will be completing her mission on the 21st of January and will be returning to Geneva on the 22nd of January. During her official visit she will be touring New Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Srinagar to meet human rights’ activists and attend the following regional consultations.

A regional consultation for the HRDs of north India will be held on 20th of January in New Delhi. It can be noted that these meetings are not open to all but those who confirm participation and then are accepted by the coordination office in Delhi.
