New Delhi: Every individual in Bihar will have access to electricity in five years as the state government has undertaken several projects to boost generation capacity to 20,000 MW, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said Sunday.
“In five years, we target to become self-dependent in power sector. There will be electricity in every household in the state in the next five years,” Modi told reporters at the 9th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas here.
He said the state government has taken several iniatives to liberalise business norms in a bid to attract investment in infrastructure sector.
Modi said Bihar will come out with a policy on renewable energy in two-three months.
“It will be announced in two-three months. We are finalising it,” he said, adding the new policy would help promote the use of renewable energy in the state.
