The BJP also demanded the resignation of Home Minister Ravi Naik for “sheltering the drug mafia in the state”.

“We will force the governor to include a paragraph on the deteriorating law and order situation in his address to the assembly. The drug mafia running amok, policemen involved in drugs, even the home minister’s son is in question here,” Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar said.

“Police officers who are in league with drug trade are being given medals by the chief minister. Both the home minister and the chief minister are responsible for sheltering drug trade in Goa,” Parrikar alleged.

Parrikar also said the BJP had tabled more than 800 questions for the week-long session beginning Jan 31 and that other issues like illegal mining, corruption and uncontrollable price rise would be discussed during the session.
