New Delhi : With an avowed aim to foster a special bond with students of the northeast and make them more aware of safety measures, the Delhi University will organise a Northeast Students Festival here Monday.
S.K. Vij, dean of students welfare, Delhi University, Friday said: “The main aim of the fest – Empowering Youth: The North East Students in Delhi University – is to make the students hailing from the region more familiar with the university system.”
“It also aims to make the students more aware about the safety measures that need to be taken care of as well as the need to foster closer integration with other people in the varsity,” he added.
The festival will have a seminar chaired by the Minister of State for Rural Development Agatha Sangma.
S.S. Yadav, deputy commissioner of police, north Delhi will also interact with the students on safety measures.
“There will also be a cultural programme,” Vij added.
