Parliament’s budget session from Feb 21

New Delhi: The budget session of parliament is slated to start Feb 21 with the national budget expected to be presented in the Lok Sabha on Feb 28.

In a meeting Thursday, the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs decided on the dates for the session which will be recommended to the president. The CCPA meeting was chaired by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who is also leader of the house in the Lok Sabha.

Parliamentary affairs ministry sources said the budget session will be spread over two phases, with the first phase likely to last till March 16.

The budget session starts with the address by the president to a joint sitting of both the houses of Parliament.
