Jaipur : One girl was killed and 18 others were injured when a portion of a roof of a private girls college collapsed in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur city Saturday.
“The accident occurred around 9.30 a.m. when Videh College was in session. At least 19 girls were trapped under the debris,” a senior district administration official told IANS.
“One girl was found dead while 18 others, three of whom are critical, were injured in the incident,” said Krishna Kunal, district collector of Bharatpur.
Bharatpur city is over 170 km from here.
Kunal said the critically injured were referred to Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh Hospital while others were admitted to a nearby government hospital.
Kunal said the reason behind the incident will be clear once the debris is removed. “We are investigating the matter and would try to ascertain the cause of the incident,” the collector said.
