New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has demanded unconditional release of innocent Muslim youths arrested in terror cases in last few years in the country, proper compensation to them for the loss of years in jails and legal action against the police officers who implicated them in the cases.
“The Muslim community was held responsible for the blasts in Malegaon, Mecca Masjid, Samjhauta Express and many others and Muslim youths were arrested in connection with these cases at different places. A number of families were put to trauma and trouble. Media and even some government officers pointed fingers of suspicion towards Muslims but the truth has been exposed by the confession of Swami Aseemanand. The confession has proved that the arrested Muslim youths were innocent,” said Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umri, Ameer (chief) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.
“After confession of Aseemanand, not to release the jailed Muslim youths immediately is further injustice to them. This should end to meet the requirements of justice,” the Maulana said.
He also demanded legal action against the police officers who destroyed the career of these youths. He expressed hope that all these innocents will be unconditionally released before this Republic Day and they will be compensated properly.
The Jamaat chief expressed satisfaction over the fact that Muslim organizations and leaders have strongly voiced against the atrocities of the administration and shook the conscience of the country.
