Shimla : The biting cold returned to Himachal Pradesh Monday after snowfall across its hills with Keylong turning out to be the coldest town in the state at a minimum of minus 11.8 degrees Celsius.
“Higher reaches in Lahaul and Spiti, Chamba, Kullu and Kinnaur districts got moderate snow in the last two days,” said an official of the meteorological department here.
The night temperature in Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti district, was down by 2.9 degrees compared to Sunday, he said.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district, which saw 1.4 cm of snow Sunday, recorded a low of minus 4.2 degrees Celsius, while the temperature was 1.2 degrees at Bhuntar, 3.5 degrees at Dharamsala, and 2.7 degrees at Sundernagar, the Met Office said.
Shimla, which saw snowflakes Sunday, recorded a minimum of 2.5 degrees Celsius, a slight fall from Sunday’s 2.6 degrees. The maximum stayed at 11.9 degrees Sunday.
The weatherman, however, said the state would not have any snowfall or rain in the coming few days.
