Patna: The demand for proper action in the Forbesganj police firing case took a new turn on Wednesday when an elderly person tried to immolate self here in the heart of the state capital. The local police reached the spot in time and took the person Dharam Dev Sah into custody. Sah is said to be member of the Bharatiya Momin Front that was holding sit-in at Kargil Chowk near Gandhi Maidan for last one week.
Front members are sitting on dharna demanding CBI probe into the Forbesganj police firing of June 3 in which four persons including an infant and a pregnant woman were killed when the villagers of Bhajanpur came out to protest blocking of their old approach road. When the government did not heed to the demand of the Front, Dharam Dev Sah on 6th July tried to immolate self but police from the local Gandhi Maidan Police Station reached the spot in time and arrested 55-year-old Sah.
Sah said he does not want to live in a state where government and top officers are silent on atrocities of police.
