Karunanidhi said that he will formally comment on Tuesday’s cabinet reshuffle later.

Asked if he talked to Finance Minister Pranab Mujherjee about his daughter Kanimozhi, who is in Tihar jail charged as a co-conspirator in the spectrum scam, Karunanidhi replied in the negativwe.

Karunanidhi and Mujherjee had met here last week.

Karunanidhi told reporters that the party would decide on all issues relating to centre and the state when the General Council meets July 23-24 at Coimbatore, around 500 km from here.

A key ally of the United Progressive Alliance government, DMK figured nowhere in the reshuffle.

DMK’s presence in the council of ministers is now reduced to four — M.K. Azhagiri (chemicals and fertilisers), S.S. Palanimanickam (finance), D. Napoleon (social justice) and S. Gandhiselvan (health).
