New Delhi: The Congress Sunday declined to comment on party leader Digvijay Singh’s remarks about the need to probe all groups, including Hindu outfits, in Wednesday’s Mumbai serial blasts, saying it was for the investigative agencies to include or exclude any group from the probe.

“Perhaps nobody except the investigative agencies can exclude a group or individual. So it is for the investigative agencies to say whether a group is involved or not,” Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed told IANS.

He said that Digvijay Singh had not made any statement on his own but had only responded to queries from media persons.

The Congress general secretary had courted controversy when he Saturday said the possibility of Hindu outfits in the Mumbai blasts could not be ruled out.

He also said that role of all kinds of terror groups should be probed in the Mumbai incident.

The BJP had strongly reacted to his allusion to role of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, terming the comments “highly objectionable”.
