The ACB said it carried out raids Tuesday at the premises of Jaibhan Singh Rathore, Janpad panchayat chief executive officer in Bijapur district, and Domar Prasad Devangan, sub-divisional officer in Bastar district.

The bureau found they have accumulated massive assets disproportionate to their known source of income. The two officers were yet to be arrested.

Rathore has assets and cash not less than Rs.17 million while Devangan too has wealth and cash of nearly Rs.16 million, officials said.

“These two gentlemen posted in extreme Naxal areas have earned massive money illegally,” ACB additional director general D.M. Awasthi told reporters.

“Cases have been registered against them under the Prevention of Corruption Act on the basis of documents and seizures made during the raids,” he added.

Sources in the ACB said the bureau was still analysing the papers recovered in the raids to detect if the two officers have any more hidden assets.
