Lucknow: Senior UP cabinet minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui urged Moallim-e-Urdu graduates to extend constructive support towards state government’s efforts for Muslims welfare. Siddiqui was addressing his felicitation function organised by the Moallim-e-Urdu graduates on Monday. The function was organised to express gratitude after state government withdrew the SLP in the apex court paving way for appointment of Moallim-e-Urdu graduates as government teachers.
Siddiqui who was at his eloquent best highlighted the steps taken by the state government for the welfare of the Muslim community. He also urged the graduates to support the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government for implementing various schemes for the Muslims. “The government is sensitive towards the problems of the community. Chief Minister (CM) Mayawati is personally concerned over their upliftment. It is now our duty to revert the favour. We should remain united and work for solving the problems faced by the community,” he said.
Taking a dig at Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, he stated that only donning the skull cap does not solve the problems of the Muslims. “If Mulayam is concerned about Muslims, he should explain the measures taken during his regime. All the previous regimes have cheated the community while BSP has addressed their problems,” he said.
Hundreds of Moallim-e-Urdu graduates showered petals on Siddiqui and assured their support once they are appointed as government teachers.
