Mumbai : Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) Monday said its net profit rose 16.69 percent to Rs.5,661 crore in the first quarter of current fiscal from Rs.4,851 crore in the same quarter of last year.
The company posted a total income of Rs.82,096 crore in April-June quarter of 2011-12 as compared to Rs.58,950 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, registering a growth of 39.26 percent, RIL said in a statement.
RIL’s earnings per share rose to Rs.17.3 in the quarter under review from Rs.14.8 in the same quarter of last year.
RIL share price rose 0.98 percent to Rs.882.15 at the BSE Monday. The results were announced after the market closed.
