Islamabad : Over 300 childless people were duped by a man posing as a fertility expert who promised they would have children after going through his expensive treatment.
The victims have told authorities that the fake expert robbed them of millions of rupees, Dawn reported.
Sixty of the victims have got their statements recorded.
Police raided the fertility clinic July 20 and arrested the “specialist doctor” and his three accomplices for exploiting the childless couples.
The fake expert offered a so-called “synchronised fertility with hormonal balancing” treatment.
“Over 300 complainants have approached the commissioner office when they learnt through media that the clinic was dubious,” an official was quoted as saying.
