Islamabad : As many as 5,000 people die of rabies in Pakistan every year, experts say.
The incidents of rabies’ are increasing in Pakistan, said speakers at a national seminar on “The awareness and current status of rabies” in Lahore Thursday.
Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh, a senior official, said that the health and livestock departments should make efforts to fight against the spread of rabies, Daily Times reported.
Muhammad Nawaz, a professor, said rabies was perhaps first described in Chinese history around 556 BC.
