Bhopal: The Social Democratic Party of India, (SDPI), has dubbed the so-called crusade launched by yoga guru Baba Ramdev a gimmick to hog limelight in a high profile manner. SDPI National President, E. Aboobacker in a statement said that “Baba Ramdev is trying to implement the agenda sponsored by RSS, which wants to divert people’s attention from BJP’s internal problems.
The statement further said that Hindutva forces had no moral right to speak about corruption when the BJP-led Karnataka government was fully drowned in corruption. The whole show was stage managed, he alleged.
Mr. Aboobacker said that Ramdev’s antics have given blow to genuine popular struggles wherein activists have been fighting evils in the corridors of power. Such fake characters affect morale of die-hard activists who have dedicated their lives to uproot such evils from public life. The financial background of Ramdev, who owns crores of rupees, is not fair or transparent, the statement further said.
SDPI also criticized the UPA Government for sending the Union Ministers to engage Baba Ramdev in talks to give up the proposed fast. ([email protected])
