Patna : Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Sunday said that his organisation and other socialist parties had raised the issue of black money stashed away abroad much before yoga guru Baba Ramdev or social reformer Anna Hazare.
“Our party and other parties had stalled parliament on the issue of black money,” Lalu Prasad told reporters here.
It was incorrect to say that Baba Ramdev or Anna Hazare and their disciples were the first to raise the black money issue, he said.
On the whisking away of Ramdev from Ramlila Ground in Delhi in a pre-dawn raid Sunday, he said that the episode began with Ramdev’s attempts to assert his importance in the civil society movement.
Lalu Prasad added that Lokpal Bill drafting committee member Prashant Bhushan had said that “the law drafting role would be taken up by him and others”, which might have prompted Ramdev to create another platform.
