Strict action against misbehaving soldier: Army

By IANS,

Srinagar: The Indian Army said Tuesday it would take strict action against a soldier who reportedly misbehaved with a tourist couple at the Pahalgam hill station in south Kashmir.

“The army has decided to take strict action against the erring soldier for misbehavior with a tourist couple in Pahalgam yesterday (Monday),” Lt.Col. J.S. Brar, spokesman of the army’s 15th Corps told IANS.

A tourist couple from Udaipur in Rajasthan had alleged Monday that a soldier had misbehaved with them after they cancelled a deal with a local taxi driver at the hill station since the driver was drunk.

Police had taken cognizance of the couple’s complaint and registered a case in the Pahalgam police station.

“The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps has passed implicit orders to maintain the highest standards of conduct and ensure that such incidents, although an aberration, are never repeated,” Brar said.
