“Police and power factors are dominating the current UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government. We strongly condemned the incident of police crackdown over Ramdev and his followers,” BJP general secretary J.P. Nadda told reporters.

“Police attacked them while they were sleeping. We demand a public apolgy from the prime minister and Sonia Gandhi over this barbaric action. This incident reminds us of the days of emergency and about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The UPA government has lost its vision and they are openly crushing the nationalist elements.”

Nadda said that Sonia Gandhi and Home Minister P. Chidambaram are the biggest culprits behind the Ramdev incident. He also criticized senior Congress leaders for using offensive language against BJP leaders.

“Congress leaders are under the influence of power and they are least bothered about morality and principles of democracy. (Union minister) Kapil Sibal and (senior Congress leader) Digvijay Singh used very offensive language that is always intolerable in any democratic setup. Rather, they have become soft before anti-nation elements and have surrendered before them,” stated Nadda.

“The UPA looks like a headless government, a ship without a captain. Sonia Gandhi and her family are exercising all authority without any accountability and this is hampering the decision-making processes,” he pointed out.
