A case was registered against author Puroshottam Khedekar Saturday on the complaints of five activists at the Bund Garden police station in Pune, a police official said Monday.

Khedekar, who also heads the Maratha Seva Sangh and Sambhaji Brigade, released his book “Shivrayanchya Badnamichi Kendre” last month, in which he has made several derogatory remarks against Brahmins.

While the Brahmins here are yet to decide about filing a police complaint, five Dalits, including academicians and activists, registered a complaint with Joint Police Commissioner Ashok Dhiware against Khedekar and his book.

In his book, Khedekar has mentioned that the non-Brahmins should take revenge on Brahmins by carrying out systematic riots in the state.

Khedekar has also allegedly used derogatory remarks against Brahmin women.
