Welfare Party to be launched in UP, Bihar and other states

New Delhi: The Welfare Party which was launched nationally on 18 April will soon be launched in several states of India. Important among them is the state of UP where the party is expected to be launched on 3 July. The announcement of the party launching can be seen in the context of the upcoming assembly elections in the state which are scheduled next year.

The other states where the party will officially announce its presence include Rajasthan (14th July), West Bengal (31 July) Karnataka (18 September). These are tentative dates of launching of the party.

The decision was taken at the first meeting of the Federal Working Committee (FWC) of the WPI in Hyderabad during 4-5 June. The meeting which was chaired by Mujtaba Farooque, president of the party, was attended by 29 members out of the total 33 members of the FWC.

Importantly the WPI has also taken decisions in order to attract several kinds of voter’s constituencies towards the party like women, youth, dalit, artisans as well as farmers. The party will create women and youth wings as well as special working groups on research, headed by Zafarul Islam Khan. Like wise the Dalit and Adivasi wing will be headed by Lalitha Naik, Weavers and Artisans, headed by Akhtar Hussain Akhtar, religious committee under Maulana Abdul Wahab Khilji, and Farmer wing headed by Ilyas Kazmi.
