To demand CBI probe, Muslim groups march to Raj Bhawan

Patna: It was the first protest march by Muslim groups in Patna against the Forbesganj police firing. Organized by half a dozen Muslim groups, the marchers were shouting strong slogans against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy and BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi. They were demanding president rule in the state and CBI probe into the firing.

The participants could be counted on fingers when the march started from Gandhi Maidan at 2 pm on 22nd June. It proceeded towards Raj Bhawan. However, many people joined the march on the way to the residence of state Governor. It took Muslim groups full 20 days to take out this small march.

At the end of the march, the groups submitted a memorandum of demands with the office of the Governor.

The joint protest march was organized by Bhartiya Momin Front,Social Democratic Party of India, Indian Union Muslim League and others.

Demands:

*Arrest BJP MLC Ashok Agarwal, his son Saurabh Agarwal, SP, Araria Garima Malik, SDO Ashok Chaudhary and prosecute them under Section 302.
*Restore the old road of Bhajanpur village
*Return the acquired land to the villagers
*Give Rs 10 lakh to family of each deceased and Rs 5 lakh to each injured besides government job to one member from each family.
