New Delhi : After a cold and wet day, it was a cloudy morning for the capital Friday with the weather office forecasting showers in the evening. The minimum temperature settled at 12.7 degrees Celsius, normal for this time.
“The skies would be partly cloudy in the morning. Thundershowers are expected towards the evening,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.
The total rainfall recorded Thursday was 2.1 mm. The maximum temperature plummeted to 20.7 degrees Celsius, six notches below the average for the season.
“The maximum and the minimum temperature will be around 23 and 12 degrees Celsius, respectively,” the official added.
The IMD attributed the rains to a western disturbance.
“The cyclonic circulations formed over the Mediterranean Sea due to pressure variation travel to India and cause rains and snowfall in winters,” the official said.
