Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress Wednesday accused West Bengal’s Left Front government of violating the model code of conduct in place for the coming assembly polls by signing appointment letters in the mass education department.
“On March 7, the state government had signed appointment letters in the mass education department. They don’t have the money to pay salaries and pension of state government employees and they are signing appointment letters,” Trinamool heavyweight and leader of the opposition in the state assembly Partha Chatterjee told mediapersons here.
Chatterjee said his party will inform the Election Commission about the model code of conduct violation.
Trinamool leadership also seemed confident of an alliance with the Congress in the state.
“We are already in an alliance. Everything will be alright. Don’t worry about it,” he said.
