New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha Tuesday morning witnessed heated arguments as opposition members sought clarification from the government on a series of disclosures made by whistleblower website WikiLeaks.

Raising the issue in the upper house of parliament, Communist Party of India-Marxist member P. Rajeev demanded a response from the government on the WikiLeaks’ alleged disclosures on the Mumbai terror attacks, cabinet reshuffle and other issues.

The member quoted media reports and asked the government to clear the air.

Rajeev was joined by other opposition members in demanding clarifications on the issue, causing an uproar in the house.

The members were, however, later pacified and the house resumed its proceedings.

The recent WikiLeaks revelations suggest, among other things, intervention of the US in information sharing between India and Pakistan after the Nov 26, 2008, Mumbai terror attacks.
