22 die during Holi clashes in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: A total of 22 persons lost their lives including triple murder at Aligarh and Kanshiram Nagar districts in Holi related violence across Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

In Aligarh, irked over payment of tip to the eunuch on Holi resulted in a clash between two neighbours — Ravindra Pal and Ishpal. In an exchange of fire Ravindra Pal, his brother Dharamveer and Ishpal died on the spot.

In Kanshiram Nagar, two friends clashed over distribution of money. Indiscriminate fire ensued resulting in the death of Gaurav, Babloo and one of Babloo’s friends Ravindra.

In Shahjahanpur, the list of deceased included Nazakat Ali and Faisal who died after another villager Razi fired upon them over their act of taking the tractor from his field while going for Holi revelry.

In Gorakhpur also, a window pane of a car belonging to Radhey Shyam was broken who later resorted to firing killing Amrit Tripathi and his cousin brother Lakshmi Narain Tripathi.

In Ambedkarnagar, Ramvilas lost his life after he objected over Holi revelry in front of his house. In Badayun a boy Devraj fell prey to a stray bullet when two groups clashed over Holi. In Bijnore, Tejpal was killed as he objected to blaring music on the occasion of Holi.

Besides, four Holi deaths were reported from Bahraich and three from Saharanpur.
