Nawaz Sharif advised two-week rest in London

By IANS,

Islamabad : Former Pakistan prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif, who underwent heart surgery in a private London hospital, has been advised rest for at least two weeks.

Sharif had felt sharp chest pain while travelling from Geneva to London with his wife and son last week and had to be admitted to a hospital, the Daily Times reported citing Pakistan’s APP news agency.

He has been reportedly shifted to a residence in London after undergoing heart surgery in the hospital, and has been advised by doctors to take complete rest for at least two to three weeks.

Siddiq-ul-Farooq, a PML-N leader, said the party chief was now “well and recovering fast”. His medical tests and check-ups would continue.

Sharif would return to Pakistan after the advice of his doctors, he said.

PML-N London chapter president Zubar Gul and Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Britain Wajid Shamsul Hassan also inquired about his health, media reports said.
