Justice L. Narsimha Reddy, who had reserved his order March 16, asked the central government to provide copies of the eighth chapter to all political parties.

M. Narayan Reddy, a lawyer, had filed the petition seeking a direction to the government to make the chapter public.

The Srikrishna Committee, which looked into the demand for a separate Telangana state and opposition to it, submitted its report to the centre in December last year. It was made public Jan 6 but the eighth chapter on “law & order and internal security dimensions” was not released.

The five-member panel, which examined the the long-term internal security implications, including the growth of Maoist activities, submitted the note to the ministry of home affairs in a separate cover.

The central government had argued that the eighth chapter could not be made public given the sensitive nature of the Telangana issue.
