Madhya Pradesh stands 3rd in India in attracting investments

Bhopal: The central Indian state Madhya Pradesh has succeeded to occupy third place among all states in the country in attracting investment proposals.

According to an official Press release a report published in the issue of January, 2011 of Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), states that in the first 10 months of the current fiscal 2010-11, Madhya Pradesh has received proposals of capital investment of over Rs.`1 lakh crore. It has also been mentioned in the report that investment friendly policies of the state have been instrumental in facilitating inflow of capital investment in
Madhya Pradesh.

The Press release stated that Madhya Pradesh has registered an investment to the tune of about Rs.`16,600 crore till the financial year ending on March 31, 2011. This capital investment includes that of Bharat Oman Refinery, which came up at Bina in Sagar district involving huge investment of Rs. 12,200 crore. Moreover, this industrial capital investment is the maximum in a single financial year ever since the state of Madhya
Pradesh came into existence.

Further, the data of available suitable Government land in all the districts of the state has been compiled in order to promote capital investment in Madhya Pradesh. Government land measuring 22,506.737 hectare has been earmarked in 45 districts of the State which is being maintained as land bank. The land earmarked is being provided to the investors as per their requirements who are intending to launch their ventures in the State.

In Madhya Pradesh, 12 new industrial areas have been developed during the current financial year 2010-11. To facilitate establishment of new industrial area in 16 villages of 12 districts, Government land measuring 1344.410 hectare has been transferred by the Revenue Department to the Industries Department. This land is being allotted to the investors as per their requirements.

During the period between 2008-09 and 2010-11, new land measuring 2,639 hectare has been acquired for industries in order to make available the infrastructural facilities in all the AKVN areas of the state. Funds to the tune of Rs. 163.46 crore were spent on development of infrastructure in these areas during the period under report, the release added. ([email protected])
