Peace Party starts maneuvering for UP Assembly poll 2012

By TCN Special Correspondent,

Lucknow: Peace Party supremo Dr Mohd Ayub announced on Saturday to forge an alliance with any group which follows their ideology. However, he ruled out any possibility of going along with BSP, BJP and Kalyan Singh’s outfit in the coming state assembly elections in 2012.

“We are open for alliances, anyone adhering to our party line is welcome,” said Dr Ayub while interacting with newsmen on Saturday in Lucknow. His Peace Party is already part of Lok Kranti Morcha (LKM) headed by Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Ajit Singh. “We are part of LKM and will fulfill the promise which we had made to the people. LKM will contest the elections as one single unit,” he said.

Over the possible tie-up with Mulayam Singh’s Samajwadi Party (SP), Dr Ayub stated that it is too early but nothing can be ruled out in politics. “I do not deny that we are not having talks for alliances but nothing can be said at this moment. Our talks are going on with others also,” he said. Regarding Amar Singh, Dr Ayub claimed that the expelled SP leader should first form a political party and then negotiate.

Replying to a query regarding Wikileaks expose which has also mentioned RLD supremo Ajit Singh’s name, he raised finger over the authenticity of the claims made by Wikileaks. “It is still a matter of probe and its details should be checked before proceeding further,” he said.

Over the future prospects of Peace Party, he claimed that the party in coming days will play an important role in state’s politics. “We will be sharing power after the elections. The government will not be formed without our support,” he claimed.
