The Bhopalis, who have a special love for open jeeps, thronged the roads in the state capital as India registered a comprehensive win over Pakistan in the cricket World Cup semifinal in Mohali.

“It was a win we had wanted at any cost. We are the best hurrah… we have won,” reacted jubilant Ankur Verma, an engineering student.

Some Bhopalis even came out on the road carrying a replica of the World Cup cricket trophy.

“We will also win the world cup this time, jiyo Dhoni… you are our winner,” Munish Sharma shouted.

The Bhopal police tried to send the ecstatic fans back home, but they failed to convince the cricket lovers.
