Ranchi: A medical superintendent in Jharkhand’s coal city Dhanbad Saturday said he was assaulted by a legislator, who has denied the charge. Police confirmed receiving a complaint on the matter.
Arun Kumar, medical superintendent of Pataliputra Medical College Hospital (PMCH) in Dhanbad, alleged Dhullu Mahto, a legislator of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantric from Baghmara constitutency, assaulted him.
“Dhullu Mahto assaulted me after charging me with not looking after patients,” Arun Kumar told reporters.
A team of Jharkhand legislators and politicians visited the medical college to enquire about those people who sustained bullet injuries Wednesday in police firing during an anti-demolition drive protest.
The Indian Medical Association condemned the assault and demanded security for doctors.
